"As seen in" — thankful Friday

May 8, 2009

We like to end the week on an up note, by thanking people who are good to us.

This week, the BeadStyle blog discussed a favorite find of emerald slices at a past Rings & Things show.

This week, the BeadStyle blog discussed a favorite find of emerald slice beads at a past Rings & Things show.

And AsetMekti was kind enough to suggest people visit our BeadTour bead shows. Fab Fibers shared the excitement of preparing for our trunk show to come to town, and some bead finds when we showed up. The Lampwork Art blog was nice enough to publicize our Louisville, KY show.

The Little Bead Shop showed off the awesome competition winners' creations in our 2009 "Your Designs Rock!" contest.

Meanwhile, Dawno generously steered her readers to our contests, even though the more entries, the lower her chances of winning are!

CraftGossip.com gave some handy tips on Finding Jewelry Artists Through Twitter, using us as an example. (Okay, this was back in April, but we just became aware of it!)

Wendy at Craft Dinner recommended stone cold stone lovers to check out our popular Gemstone Beads Index. Another recommendation of the “Gem Index” appeared at Winged Heart Studio.

In an excellent tutorial on how to dabble in mixed media with porcelain blanks, The Rabbit Muse kindly gave a shout-out to us as a good supplier for bails to hang them on.

In other design news, Margot Potter recommend Melanie’s (of Earthenwood Studio) designs using our lava-rock beads.

Thanks so much to all of you in the blogs and on Twitter for your nice words about Rings & Things. We appreciate you!

Having the Gemstone Index on my studio blog gives added value to my readers! I specialize in semi-precious stone jewellery. One of the reasons that my clients like my jewellery is because the stones that I work with offer special meaning to them. They can go to the index for the best info all in one place. And its not afraid to offer interpretations of the good vibrations that each stone is reported to hold! It also has funny comments, like the one about the stone, Dalmatian Jasper. The Index suggests that the stone is named after these dogs as owning one takes a lot of patience! lol Loving the Index!

I think Wendy’s comment about the Daltmatian Jasper entry would make a great ad by itself: “Rings & Things — best in show” 🙂

We tend to have a table of extra-special stuff up near the front at our bead shows — I bet that’s exactly where these lovelies came from!

Man OH MAN. If folks keep blogging about all the great things they find at the roadshows, I’m gonna go nutty by the time y’all come to Vegas at the end of October! Good thing I have that day off work for Nevada Day so I can plan on spending the whole time letting my muse lead me around the tables of beads! (yes, October 31 is Nevada Day – the recognized holiday for when Nevada became a state.)

I think October 31 is effectively Nevada Day in a lot of states. 🙂 But seriously, we’re well prepared for bead maniacs to show up at our shows. We’ve got the straitjackets with Rings & Things logos to prove it…
