Featured bead: shell pearls

A.k.a. “Shellies”…

…maximize the shine per penny…

…with shell pearls…

Perfectly round every time!

…perfectly round every time!

I’ve challenged myself – – write 5 great things about shell pearls – – in 25 words or less πŸ™‚

  1. Mixing real & faux!
  2. Awesome feel & cost!
  3. Durable!
  4. One of the few beads you can call pulverized!
  5. Coated with fish scales or pearl powder!

Does my nerdy enthusiasm for shell pearls shine through? I hope so! Get ’em in lots of colors & sizes from…well, you know where πŸ™‚

Nerdiness is showing but it’s all good. Never bought shell pearls before but you have me intrigued.

Hi Leslie, you’ll enjoy these shell pearls very much – – really nice for designs that need pearly luster plus uniformity. You’d pay a lot more to achieve this with real pearls πŸ™‚

I’ve got shell pearls of all sorts and I agree: They’re super! Know several beaders who use these instead of fw pearls or other imitations and I think it was they who initially made me how great shell pearls are.
I’m still a bit annoyed with myself for not buying any shell pearls when I won the 25 $ gift certificate (on the other hand I bought those gorgeous montana/burgundy luster fp instead so I shouldn’t complain — my favorites right now.)
BTW, Dave, thanks for you comment in my blog. πŸ™‚

πŸ™‚ Hi Maneki, I only hope you could understand my attempt at writing in Swedish! I don’t completely trust those online translation sites…but I used one anyway…
